Is there anything I can do if I had permission to publish an article from the person who is now saying it's defamatory?

I am a journalist and I interviewed a man for a piece. I sent a copy of it to him for approval but now he is trying to sue us because he said it is defamatory (even though he agreed in the first place). What should we do?
