Terminating contract early

I purchased my new sound system using a credit financing arrangement with the shop where I bought it. I am two months into a 24 month repayment contract. I want to get out of it because I don't think I can afford the ongoing repayments and I don't really want the sound system. Can I just return the product and stop the repayments?
