Sean left Baker & McKenzie in 2012 to establish his practice Sean Melbourne Legal, in which he provides legal services to business and individuals primarily in employment law. Sean brings top tier experience without the constraints or cost structures of a top tier firm.

Sean’s areas of experience include:

• all areas of employment law, including drafting employment contracts, drafting policies and procedures, restructuring, termination of employment, redundancies, unfair dismissal, adverse action, employment-related litigation, post-employment restrictions, fiduciary duties, confidential information, transfer of business, Awards and enterprise agreements; and

• conducting commercial litigation in the Federal Court and Courts of NSW, Victoria and Western Australia. Areas of experience include employment disputes, contract disputes, breach of warranties, misrepresentation, misleading and deceptive conduct claims, business protection and minority shareholder disputes.

Sean authored or co-authored the following chapters of the CCH Master Human Resources Guide: Termination of Employment and Unfair Dismissal, Termination of Employment at Common Law, Termination Benefits and Taxation, Resignation, Retirement and Abandonment, Policies & Procedures and Managing Stress.

Before commencing practice, Sean graduated with First Class Honours in Law from the Australian National University. He also holds a Bachelor of Economics and a
Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Australian National University.
