Melanie Tonazzi is the Founder and Director of Sydney Law Group. Prior to opening Sydney Law Group, Melanie enjoyed a successful career, firstly as a Nurse and then as Sales and Marketing Manager for one of the world’s leading medical devices manufacturers.

After working as a volunteer with the Law Society of NSW in the pro bono team, Melanie was nominated for the Volunteer Award in the Law and Justice Foundation Awards in 2003 for the work that she undertook for a female refugee from Sierra Leone. The Appeal decision of the full bench of the Federal Court of Australia which allowed the woman to remain in Australia and escape the risk of death if she had returned to Sierra Leone is a highlight in Melanie’s career.

As the Solicitor Director of Sydney Law Group Melanie has a simple, but clear vision to provide her clients with timely, efficient and cost effective legal services. Her clients value her, because she takes a practical approach to the management of matters. She is responsive, strategic thinker and an excellent advocate. Melanie is an effective negotiator and understands that Court is never the preferred method of obtaining a successful result for her clients.
In cases where Court action is unavoidable, Melanie is a fearless advocate with experience attending Court at all stages of proceedings. She is supported by Australia’s leading Barristers and is experienced in all matters relating to Family Law, Criminal Law and General Litigation. With over 12 years’ experience in Litigation and providing legal services to her clients at every stage of their lives.
