Leanne gained a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours from the University of Tasmania in 1982 and was admitted to practice in 1983. She has lived on the North West Coast of Tasmania since 1986.
She was President of the Law Society of Tasmania in 2006 and was a member of the Council of the Law Society of Tasmania from 2001 to 2012. She was an Executive member of the Law Council of Australia from 2010 to December 2014. She is a member of the Guardianship and Administration Tribunal and the University of Tasmania’s Governing Council. She was also recently appointed as a member of the Tasmanian Licensing and Gaming Commission.
