Summary

Hello, I am Anne Marie and I assist clients with Conveyancing when they sell or buy a property and other property law related matters as well as with Wills and estate planning. I have a virtual law firm. The delivery of legal services online affords my clients many advantages. Most of my clients are busy professionals or people with young families. Hence the convenience that my online legal service affords them is greatly appreciated. The fact that they are able to access legal services at their convenience is a great advantage to them. They are able to send me queries and get answers to their legal questions at their convenience. Since I am available online, once the clients send me their queries I am able to call them or organize a skype meeting with them at their convenience in order to ascertain the nature of the problem. I can review contracts for properties they are purchasing or get instructions if they intend buying or selling a property or discuss the draft Will I have prepared for them. This accessibility and flexibility that I offer ensures that the client’s mind is at ease because they know that they don’t have to take time off their busy schedules or arrange for a baby sitter in order meet a lawyer.

Also the client is provided with a fixed fee quote at the beginning so there is no uncertainty in regards to costs.

I also have an online legal platform DivorceRight which deals with family law matters. I have adopted an innovative approach to divorce. Clients meet with a mediator and family lawyers who assist them to reach an agreement through a process of mediation and collaboration without having to go to court. The service is provided to clients for a fixed fee. I am constantly hearing clients complain about the cost of legal fees in family law matters as well as how frustrating the whole process is. There are undue delays and the adversarial process does not seem to work for most families. They end up fighting in court for extended periods, spend heaps of money on lawyers and never get the settlement they were hoping to reach in the first instance.

I have been thinking that there must be a better way to deal with the issue of divorce and separation and hence the reason I have launched www.divorceright.com.au

I help connect families with mediators, lawyers, accountants, counsellors and psychologists since divorce is not only a legal issue but has financial and emotional implications as well. The approach we adopt is family focused.
We use technology to keep the costs down. At DivorceRight, the divorce process is online and clients have access to the secure client portal. Clients use the portal to receive and send notifications, fill out forms, upload files, view case status, schedule conferences, post/review legal work, send and receive messages and pay bills. This makes the process better, cheaper and more accessible. I use technology to automate paperwork, predict costs communicate with families and professionals at their convenience which maybe after working hours in the case of busy parents and professionals.

I also encourage clients to use interactive web technology and video conferencing as well as Skype. Clients can arrange an initial meeting with their assigned team member on skype or a videoconference or arrange a face-to-face meeting at an appointed meeting room to discuss the facts of the case. With virtual mediation DivorceRight provides the hand-holding for clients over the web, however if they need a face-to-face meeting this can be arranged as well.

My firm Daniel Lew Le Mercier was named as a finalist in the 2015 Lexis Nexis Legal Innovation Index for the innovative approach I have adopted to the delivery of legal services. My firm was the only sole practitioner firm that made the list of finalists.
