Am I privy to the advice my underage son gets from his lawyer?

My son has been involved in a robbery and has a lawyer because he has been charged. I want to know the advice that the lawyer is giving him. He is 17, is the advice confidential from me? or am I allowed to see it because I am his father? He doesn't want me to see it.
